Mixed weekend for local cyclists

In the HSBC UK National Mountain  Bike Cross Country Series, Round 3 held

at Aske Moor, North Yorkshire on Sunday 14th May, Dave Fletcher, racing for Sherwood Pines-Felt Bikes/Enve finished 7th in the Elite Men`s Race won by Grant Fergusson (CST American Eagle Team) a GB International Rider.

In the Elite Women`s Race Vanessa Holmes (Arrow Cycles) from Bilsthorpe finished 14th behind Winner Evie Richards, also a GB International Rider.

In the LVRC (League of Veteran Racing Cyclist) Ian Russell (Moda Road Team) from Southwell came 2nd after a breakaway with local powerhouse, Andy Eagers of Derby Mercury CC in the Team Wheelguru Circuit Races held at the Darley Moor Motorcycle Race Circuit, Nr Ashbourne, Derbys.

In the TLI Cycling Youth Circuit Championships held at the Oulton Park Race Circuit near Chester the following local Youth Category Riders did as follows:

In Race 3 Finley Bass racing for the MI Racing Academy finished a finished a fine 2nd place with Florence Lissaman (Newark Castle CC) first Girl in 8th in the mixed Boys/Girls Races

In Race 4 Jude Du Toit (Bolsolber & District CC) finished 2nd with Leo Bass (MI Racing Acedemy) in 7th place

In Race 5 Lottie Lissaman (Newark Castle CC) was the Winner with Jet Du Toit (Bolsolver & District CC) 3rd place

In Sunday`s Women`s Lincoln Grand Prix, covering 8 x 8 mile laps of a difficult and brutal course, going up the 1 in 5 cobbled Michaelgate climb each lap, saw Isabel Darvill involved in a early retirement due to a multi-rider pile-up smashing her wheels and unable to continue.  Rebecca Richards (Newark Castle CC) did better, lasting the distance to half way through the extremely fast race against some of the UK`s best Women Riders being pulled out when she passed the 5 minute time limit allowed.
