Seven youngsters braved the rain and cold

Seven Newark Athletic Club youngsters braved the weather and headed over to Rushcliffe Country Park for the final round of the Mini League Cross Country.

In the U11 boys race, Ryley Picker secured a third place finish earning him a bronze medal for 3rd place overall. In the same race, Cameron Shivas enjoyed the mud and puddles and was proudly cheered on by his brother Reuben finishing in 36th place.

In the U13 girls race Zoe Smith came home first in 23rd place. Zoe has represented Newark A.C. in all Mini League events for cross country, track and field and Sportshall 2018/19. Also in the U13 girls race, Anna Clarke finished just behind Zoe in 24th with a big smile across her muddy face!

In the U13 boys race, Joseph Monk's hard work earlier in the series was rewarded when he came home with a bronze medal for 3rd place overall, despite his 9th place finish on the day. Following his  recent illness and emotional stress this was a fantastic result for the likable young man.

Finally, Ellie Monaghan and Catherine Booth ended their Mini League time with strong finishes in 10th and 12th respectively. Well done all of you!
