Newark Athletic Club

Newark Athletic Club where wel represented at the British Inter Counties XC

Newark Athleic Club where well represented at a very windy and muddy Prestwold Hall for the British Inter Counties Cross Country featuring thousands of runners from the four corners of the UK.

Amelia Chrispin was competing in her first year of the U15 girls age group competition, running against 308 other eager girls on the testing 4km course. She had a decent start and was in around 70th position after the first frenetic 800m. For the next 3km she worked hard moving through the field and with around 200m to go was in the top 30 runners. She had a great sprint finish, and managed to cross the line, in probably her best race to date, in a fantastic 27th place Nationally. She now looks forward next weekend, to the English Schools XC at Leeds.

Our locals had some great personal results showing great commitment, helping teams out at the last minute and persevering through illness.
