The Notts Amateur Professional Golf Alliance

The Notts Amateur Professional Golf Alliance came to a close last week with Newark cementing an impressive third place in the final Club Order of Merit, after finishing sixth last year. In our first year back after an absence of more than ten years this is a great achievement for all the players who represented us.

PGA Professional also secured 3rd in the Pro’s Order of Merit.

An outstanding season for this year’s Captain, Howard Jones, who came joint 2nd in the Seniors.

Wishing six of our players all the best as they qualified to play in the Harry Brown final against the other top eight teams in the alliance at Rufford Park.

 Mixed Matches

Newark had a Friendly Mixed Match against Radcliffe-on-Trent on Sunday 12 May. The match was played at Radcliffe on a lovely sunny day. The result was a half (2-2) and afterwards the players enjoyed a welcoming meal.

This was the second match of the season Newark having won against Seacroft at home 7-2 last month.

The next Mixed Match is on Friday 14th June against Blankney away.

 Mixed Interclub Foursomes (Picture attached)

On Sunday 13 May our Interclub Foursomes Team of Eva Glasby, Julia Hatcher, Howard Jones and Graham Forrest played against Stanton on the Wolds at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club in the Mixed Interclub Foursomes.

The weather was very warm and sunny and I am pleased to report that our team won with an overall score of 1 up.  They will now play Coxmoor at Rufford Park on Monday 15th July.
