The victories keep coming

Newark Tennis Club continue their winning streak with two team winning over the weekend.

Mixed 2nd headed to Bingham to play in Div 3 short format. James Lalyk/Sue Bilton took all 4 sets comfortably only coming under pressure once in a tie-break in their final game of the day. Ashley Hallam/Katy Dines weren’t as lucky, losing in their final game of the day 1-6 to take only 3 sets. Gary Brickles/Lynne Hare couldn’t secure a win against Bingham 1st or 2nd pair but came back to win both of their final round games. Final results 9-3.

James Lalyk was back in action as acting captain of the mens 1st to welcome Farnsfield A (currently unbeaten in Div 6) to the home courts and with partner Sam Smith lost only 12 games and took all 6 sets. 2nd pair Tony Gammage/Adrian Smith were not as fortunate and after losing 2 earlier tie breaks managed a win to give them their only set. John Jessop/Sam Butler managed a 3-3 after taking a set off each Farnsfield pair. A close win 10-8.
