Have you heard the story about Anthea and the Brass Monkey

Another week, another leg of the East Midlands cross country series and another big turnout of Newark Striders. The Holme Pierrepont course was less hilly than last week's but was muddier and more slippery. After 2 events Striders men's veterans A is sitting in 4th place from 12 teams and our ladies veterans A is currently 9th from 11. 

 

First finisher for the men was Simon Palmer 41:22, then David Cross 41:59, Peter Davis 44:11, Gary Tasker 45:43, Richard Spurr 47:10, David Daubney 47:32, Andy Scott 49:56, Steve Padgett (c) 49:56,  Andy Sirrs 51:03, Stephen Tomlinson 51:26, Stephen Gurd 52:30, Geoff Riley 54:35, Jason Priest 56:20, Jason Cobb had to pull up.

First lady to cross the line was Philippa Clarke 24:33, Nicola Bradley 26:10, Karen Hichisson 30:01, Karen Illsley 30:35, Kath Scott 30:50, Nicole Henderson 31:17, Tracey Partridge 31:36, Heather Green 33:07, Lesley Butlin 33:08, Clare Stainton 33:09, Stacey Atkins 33:21, Sarah-Jane Cobb 33:32, Lynne Boby 34:41, Jenny Palmer 34:58, Holly Dews 35:16, Di Holmes 35:34. 

Meanwhile in York, Anthea Moisey was competing in the Brass Monkey half marathon. Anthea is in fantastic form right now and her time of 2:24:27 was a massive new PB and smashed the sub 2:30 that she was hoping for.
