The fastest ever Newark Strider

We start this week with news of Simon Roberts' magnificent performance in the Manchester marathon. Simon was over the moon after covering the 26.2 miles in a new PB and fastest ever Newark Striders marathon time of 3:02:48.

30 Newark Striders were amongst the 4547 finishers in the Run for All City of Lincoln 10K. First back was Danielle Forsey in 43:29 PB followed by our first man Richard Spurr in 44:02 PB. Ted Behl was next in 45:22, then Graham Welsh 46:21 PB, Jon Palmer 46:34 PB, Steve Padgett 46:55 PB, Richard Webster 47:01 PB, Steve Martin 47:39 and Stephen Tomlinson 49:21 PB. Michael Hancock completed his first 10K in 51:49 PB just behind daughter Ella 50:16, then Lynda Madden 52:07, Dan Endersby 52:18, Tom Spelman 53:22, Michelle Starbuck 55:51 PB, Rachel Barnard 55:58, Jane Hill 56:53 and Jason Priest 57:47. Heather Green was delighted to go under the hour in 59:38 PB with Tom Jordan 59:39, Matt Patterson 1:00:03, Tracey Partridge 1:01:18 PB, Nicki Padgett 1:02:39, Katie Gabbitas 1:02:42 PB and Gemma Latham 1:03:12, Nina Burton 1:03:33 PB. Dennis Rawle finished in 1:04:53 PB, Tracey Mayfield 1:08:49 PB, Alex Doy 1:10:50 PB and Emma Ashwin 1:17:23 PB.

Emma Gilbert took part in round 2 of the Dark & White Peaks spring series at Grindleford, finishing the 14.5 KM course in 1:29, which earned a Gold timing award. We did Parkruns at Colwick, Delamere, Newark and Lincoln.
