Striders Parkrunners on tour

The weekend got off to a great start on Saturday with Newark Striders travelling to Parkruns at Clumber Park, Dalby Forest, Dishley, Fell Foot,  Gainsborough, Jersey Farm, Lincoln, Melton Mowbray, Rother Valley and Sherwood Pines.

Personal Best times were tumbling on Bank Holiday Sunday at the Sleaford Half Marathon in near ideal running conditions. Matt Silk was first back for Striders in 16th place overall, he achieved his aim of going inside one and a half hours, recording a new PB of 1:29:21. Jean Louis Balestra wasn't far behind, finishing in 1:30:39 PB, next was Nige Driscoll who carved well over 5 minutes off his PB, crossing the line in 1:37:05. Danielle Forsey was first lady in 1:39:44, then came Peter Davis, second in age group with 1:43:20. Cate Driscoll had a great run and was rewarded with a new PB of 1:45:23 with Graham Welsh finishing next in 1:46:40 PB. Simon Palmer stopped the clock in 1:54:17, Steve White was next in 1:55:58 then Jacqui Jackson who earned a new PB of 2:03:01 then Anthea Moisey and Jenny Palmer who ran the course together and finished in 2:22:47 and 2:22:49 respectively.

On to 10K news, and Steve Martin took on the King's Lynn 10K, finishing in 45:58 whilst Stephen Tomlinson ran the Langtoft 10K and crossed the finishing line in 49:53.
