Busy in the sun

Tuesday evening, and David Cross and Gary Tasker were at Rushcliffe Country Park for race 1 of the Holme Pierrepont Running Club Grand Prix. David covered the 4 miles in 25:46 and Gary 27:33. Also on Tuesday, Dave Dews 19:36 PB, Peter Davis 22:31 and Stephen Tomlinson 23:08 PB were competing in the second round of the Lincoln Wellington 5K series. On to Thursday for the HPRC Grand Prix race 2, a 5 mile event at Colwick Park. David Cross 33:57, Gary Tasker 35:12 and Stephen Tomlinson 41:03.

It was Parkrun as usual for many of us despite the hot weather and as well as Newark, where Andy Sirrs ran his 100th Parkrun, we were at Belton House, Dishley, Fountains Abbey, Lincoln, Isabel Trail and Windy Nook.

Sunday, and 4 Striders made the trip to Hessle for the 20th Humber Bridge Half Marathon, a warm and windy day on a tough course that includes the aptly named Cardiac Hill. Graham Welsh 1:54:00, Andy Sirrs 2:17:50, Heather Green & Lesley Butlin 2:46:42.

Kirsty Ballinger and Jennifer Owens were at the Normanby Hall 10K, Kirsty ran the race in 1:18:39 together with Jennifer, 1:18:41. Claire Spratt and Amanda Longmire ran the 10K Race for Life at Clumber Park, raising money for a great cause and crossing the line together in a watch time of 1:17:48.
