Newark Striders

We start this week's report at Holme Pierrepont where Matt Silk was taking part in the Nottingham Christmas Half Marathon. Matt completed his 5 laps of the lake in 1:38:38.

To the coast next where 16 Newark Striders were racing in the Skegness 10K, a course with PB potential. Simon Roberts was first over the line in 38:56 and 17th place overall. David Cross was next in a great time of 40:51 PB, Nick Beveridge 46:58, Geoff Riley was thrilled with 52:48 PB and Karen Hichisson 52:59. Matt Patterson PB and Donna Wright finished in 56:10 and 56:11 and next came Andy Scott and Kath Scott together in 57:27, Kath was keen to get in under the hour for the first time and did so by over two and a half minutes for a fabulous new PB. Nicole Henderson and Sarah-Jane Cobb also had their sights on the magic hour and were both delighted with new PBs by almost 3 minutes of 59:22 and 59:47 respectively. Heather Green was next in with 1:02:07 then Lynne Boby 1:04:32, Di Holmes 1:06:50, Bernie Divall 1:06:54, Nick Harrison 1:08:11.

Our final stop is the Edwinstowe 10K trail race. Jan Bailey was the first of the 11 Striders to finish and also took third place overall in the race, 37:01. Next came Simon Palmer 46:51 and Jess Gordon 50:14, 20th female. Tom Young completed the course in 50:20, Becky Clift recorded a super new PB of 53:28, Steve Padgett 54:37, Stephen Tomlinson 54:51, Sara Carter 58:16, Jon Rawson 1:00:17, Jenny Palmer 1:06:22, Anthea Moisey 1:11:16.
