Striders in action
Friday evening and four Newark Striders took part in the 5K Newstead Abbey Dash. Simon Roberts was the first to finish in 18:42, followed by David Cross 20:03, Peter Davis 23:12 and Stephen Tomlinson 23:56. The race also served as the 2019 Notts AAA 5K county championship and we're delighted to report that Peter Davis retained his title, once again collecting the gold medal in the V65 age category.
To Saturday and Mark and Jacqui Jackson ran the Heckington Show 10 mile event. They completed the course together, crossing the line in 1:34:18 and 1:38:19.
Newark Striders participated in Parkruns at Newark, Belton House, Clumber Park, Dishley, Mansfield Park, Ashford, Water Meadows, Westmill and Woolacombe Dunes which is considered to the the toughest of all Parkruns.
No running race results to report from Sunday but well done to Noel Henderson in the London Triathlon, and to Stacey Atkins in the Outlaw Triathlon which was reduced to a 2.4 mile swim and marathon as the conditions were unsuitable for the 112 mile cycle.
