Exciting News.....International Honours

Some very exciting news to start us off this week.... international honours! Peter Davis donned his England vest for the Maidenhead Half Marathon, which incorporated the England vs Celtic Masters. Running against the very best age group runners, Peter finished in 1:42:28, placing 9th in the men's V65.

Rewind to Tuesday evening and Dave Dews, Peter Davis and Stephen Tomlinson competed in the fourth and final round of the Lincoln Wellington 5K series. Still waiting for the official times and series final standings but in the meantime watch times of 19:32for Dave, 22:59 for Peter and 24:19 for Tomo.

On to Saturday and 14 Newark Striders took part in the popular 5 mile Bassingham Bash. Lewis Hopkinson was the first from the club to cross the line in a gun time of 29:17. Next came David Robinson 30:24, Andrew Vosper 38:28, Graham Welsh 38:37 then Philippa Clarke and Jessica Gordon together in 38:44. Steven Padgett 40:21, Jason Cobb 41:34, Stephen Tomlinson 41:41, Andy Scott 42:38, Karen Hichisson and Niceeta Padgett 43:18, Tracey Partridge 47:16 and Kath Scott 47:37.

Saturday is also Parkrun day and as well as Newark, we ran at Huntington, Sherwood Pines, Woolacombe and Limerick. Parkrun milestones, 100 for Andy Scott and 50 for Nigel Freshwater.

Sunday saw Steve and Lisa White in Teesside for the Middlesbrough 10K. Steve finished in 47:22 and Lisa 1:17:36. Meanwhile closer to home, Stephen Tomlinson and Anthea Moisey ran the Wilne 10K, crossing the line in 54:09 and 1:02:24 respectively. Six Striders took part in the Active Forest Sherwood Pines 10K along woodland trails. David Daubney 49:46, Steven Padgett 50:46, Jason Cobb 53:11, Niceeta Padgett and Karen Illsley both 58:11 and Tracey Partridge 61:11.
