Newark Mixed 1st started 2019 with another win in their Division 7 campaign. The start of the new year saw a trip down the A1 to play Grantham. The games were close as all pairings took time to warm up into the games but took enough in the end for a 57-51 scorline.

First pair Sam Smith/Sara Jackson won 21-15 whilst Adrian/Steph Smith chipped in with nineteen points and the new pairing of James Lalyk and Tamara Bainbridge brought home another seventeen valuable points.

    Newark Rugby Club will be looking for an early Christmas present in their final match before the new year. The team are still looking for their first victory of the current campaign and will be hopeful it comes against a Belgrave side that are nine points and three places above our locals.
