NOTFAST results 12/02/2017

45 brave NOTFAST members took part in some very cold Parkruns this week, with runners at Newark, Sherwood Pines, Clumber Park and Belton House. Peter Lane took part in Lancaster Parkrun, while Stuart Hawkes completed Hereford Parkrun. At Newark, Alan Fisher completed the excellentachievement of 100 Parkruns! Lots of PBs this week, for Simon Eccleston, Nick Raynes, Amy Lanham, Sue Stott, Kate Blair, Kirsty Abbotts, Tracey Hart, Lynne Hare, Jane Wilkins, Faye Hemingway, Peter Lane, and Camilla Grant.

This Saturday saw a number of NOTFAST runners go to Clumber Park for the night run. This is a rare opportunity to take in Clumber Park after dark though Woodland, Heathland, and around the 100-acre lake. Among those completing the approximately 3K course were Kimberley Etherington-Bates (31:13), Adam Jackson (34:06), Caroline Upton (35:54), Annette Taylor (37:12), Angela Brown (42:20), Cheryl Kempster (42:21), Faye Hemingway (42:22), Jacqui Walton (43:35), Victoria Heath (43:39), Sue Needham (44:13), Steve Needham (44:16), Maria Brambles (45:20), Kate Blair (49:37), and Kirsty Jackson (50:04)

On Sunday, Netty Stevens and Piotr Dura took part in the Stamford Valentines 30K. Both were using this as part of their London Marathon training, and although they avoided the snow, the route was extremely hilly with a height accumulation of over 1000 feet. Piotr finished in an excellent time of 2:24:02, with Netty and her guide Paul, completing the course in impressive 3:03:59, which was her longest run to date.

David Watt and Liz Walton also completed the Caythorpe Dash on Sunday. This is a 13 mile cross country race on the edge of the vale of Belvoir, which makes for a very challenging run! Provisional results show David completing in 2:08:09, and Liz in 2:24:04.

Also on Sunday, NOTFAST turned out in big numbers to support the all clubs run, organised this week by Newark Striders. The course took in the Newark half marathon route, with some shorter cut-offs for runners not wanting to complete the full half marathon distance. The run was very well organised, and all NOTFAST members who took part were full of praise for the event.

This week also saw another NOTFAST running achievement, as it was announced that Richard Hallam and his Bernese Mountain Dog, Chelsea, have been chosen to be part of a team in a display at this year’s Crufts. This will take place in the main ring to showcase Cani-Cross running.
