39 NOTFAST members took part in Parkruns this week, with runners at Newark and Rushcliffe Richard Borrill also took part in the Gateshead Parkrun, achieving a PB. Also with a PB this week was Nicola Dawes, Rachael Spencer, Sarah Walker, Lisa Tindall, Lacey Simons, Lynne Hare, and Camilla Grant.

This Saturday Stuart Ashley completed the Winter Poppyline Challenge Walk in North Norfolk.

Start and finish at Aylsham at 8am, the route went to Holt at 16.3 miles and then north to the coast at Kelling. He then followed the cliff top footpath to Upper Sheringham, skirted around Sheringham to the halfway at 26 miles arriving in 7 hours 15 mins (which he was pleased with). After rest and food, he continued on the longest section of 12 miles, over the hilly inland section to Cromer and along the cliff top path (at this point, in the dark) to Overstrand and then inland to the next checkpoint at Southrepps. After another short rest and more food, it was south again on an 8 milesection via North Walsham to the last checkpoint at Felmingham. The final 5 miles were mainly on a disused railway track, which is part of The Weavers Way, and to the finish at Aylesham arriving at 5 mins past midnight making the time for the 25 mile night time section at about 8 hours.

A clear day with blue skies and quite warm at times. Clear skies on the night time section and with virtually no light pollution gave a clear starlit sky. Although there was a headwind at times, Stuart completed the 51.1 mile challenge in 16 hours and 5 minutes.

On Sunday, NOTFAST took a huge contingent of 25 women and 22 men along to the final event of the East Midlands Cross Country League at Trent Meadows, in Long Eaton. In the Ladies section, Diana Wakefield finished in 15th position in 21:03, closely followed by Kimberley Etherington Bates (23:40), Janet Davies(24:22), Kate Fisher (27:03), Cheryl Kempster (27:03), Caroline Upton(28:09), Kirsty Jackson (28:21), Angela Brown (28:22), Annette Taylor(29:00), Verity Gale (29:10), Lisa Needham-Leach (29:58), Breeze Rowlands(31:24), Kerry Robinson (31:30), Jo Gray (31:31), Kirsty Watson (32:24), Cathy Clarke (32:26), Emily Baker-Gaunt (32:34), Fay Paterson (32:35), Kathryn Lile ( 33:34), Maria Brambles (33:50), Dianne Kennett (34:48), Gill Goode (35:01), Kate Blair (35:08), Karen Borrill (35:09), and Elizabeth Webster (44:51)
