Notfast Running Club

43 NOTFAST members took part in Parkruns this week, taking in ColwickPark, Clumber Park, Sheringham, and Newark. There was also a small tourism party at Sherwood Pines. Lots of PBs this week, for Simon Lock, David Gill, Simon Eccleston, Chris Redhead, Rachel Sheldrake, Kerry Robinson, Anna Wilkinson, Dianne Kennett, Chantelle Hallam and Annette Taylor.

Kirsty Watson and Nikki Dales were at the very challenging and hilly Catton Park 10K. Kirsty completed the course in 1:10:53, and Nikki in 1:08:23

Kimberley Etherinton-Bates was at the Great Birmingham 10k, coming back in an excellent 51:05.

Chris Mumby was at the Gear 10 event in Kings Lynn, and completed the 10K course in 1:07:11

Piotr Dura Was at the Leicester Big 10k this weekend, coming in in a new PB of 38:52, 10th overall, and first in his age category!

Rachel Sheldrake, David Watt and Liz Walton ran the Woodhouse Eaves Mayday Challenge, a 13.5 mile trail race in the Charnwood Hills. David completed the course in 1:58:15, Liz in 2:16:12, and Rachel in 2:37:25

Stuart Ashley and Edward Casebourne completed the Valleys and Views Challenge Walk on Monday; a trail walk around the Corby and Market Harborough area, through to Rutland. Hard underfoot due to the recent dry weather, and sunny throughout, they completed the 27 miles in 9:03.

4 NOTFAST runners were at the Milton Keynes Marathon this week, which was by all accounts a very tough course. Adam Holland, although sleep deprived still managed to come in 3rd overall in a time of 2:42:25. Adrian Dix, in his first marathon came in in 3:31:12. Janet Davies, who struggled with injury during the race, still managed to complete the course in an excellent 4:13:46, and Jim Lovett, in his first marathon, pushed through to finish in a brilliant time of 4:42:54.

Also on Monday, the NOTFAST community came together for the “NOTFAST Bacon Butty run”. This now regular event for NOTFAST members and their friends and family, involves either a 5K or 10K run followed by bacon buttysand a social. This time, the event took place in Winthorpe, and was attended by 76 runners across the distances, and was again superbly organised by the NOTFAST social committee!
