Notfast news

Notfast Running Club

37 NOTFAST members took part in Parkruns this week, at Beeston and Belton House. In Newark, it was a NOTFAST takeover, with NOTFAST completing all the volunteer roles, including a number of pacers. There was also a selection cakes provided for the runners. It was also “Bring-your-bling” day at Newark, with many runners in event tops and brandishing medals, including an impressive table display from Adam Holland. PBs this week for Andrew Jenkinson, Cathy Clarke, Anna Wilkinson, Sarah Walker, Sam Moyses and Camilla Grant.

On Saturday, John Miller took part in the Rat Race Obstacle course run at Burghley House in Stamford. 20 miles, lots of mud and 200 obstacles later, John completed the event in an impressive 5:51:41. Massive well done!

Peter Lane was in the north for the Lakeland Trails 10K in Staveley (measures more 12K). This is more of a fell run than a trail run, and Peter completed the course in 1:18:16, 3 minutes faster than last year, which also included carrying a fellow runner to mountain rescue due to a nasty tumble on a steep downhill section!

On Sunday, there were multiple events taking place for the yellow army.

At the Sleaford Half Marathon, there were 6 NOTFAST members competing. A relatively flat and fast course, Jeremy Reichelt was the first of the team back in 1:44:11, followed by Andrew Rowlands (1:45:12 and new PB), Claire Wood(1:48:34 and new PB), Chris Redhead (2:12:30 and first half marathon), Lisa Leach (2:21:46), and Gill Goode (2:48:38 and new PB).

At the Chatsworth 10k, there were 7 NOTFAST members taking part. A multi-terrain course, and very hilly. First back for the team was Oli Phillips in 46:04, followed by Steve Needham (0:58:46), Angela Brown (1:06:30), Emily Baker-Gaunt (1:08:00), Sue Needham (1:0848), Jacqui Walton (1:08:55), and Victoria Heath (1:18:57)

NOTFAST also had members taking part in the Long Clawson 10k. Another multi terrain event, and lots of hills. Kimberley Etherington-Bates was first back for NOTFAST in 58:07, followed by Kate Fisher (1:03:53), Rachel Sheldrake (1:05:08 and course PB), Nick Rayns (1:05:24), Nikki Dales(1:12:47), Breeze Rowlands (1:12:57), Maria Brambles (1:17:48), and Zoe Smith (1:48:07).

Over the weekend, Richard Hallam was at the Hatton Festival for Dogs, competing in some 3k canicross trail races with his dog, Chelsea. On Saturday, they completed the course in 1st place in 11:32, and on the Sunday, 2nd place in 11:21.

Finally, Adam Holland was in Cambridgeshire competing in the Wings World Run on Sunday. This is an event that is run simultaneously around the world with over 150,000 entrants all racing against a car, driven by David Coulthard. The aim is to get as far as you can, before being overtaken by the car, when your race ends. At times, Adam was 2nd in the world, before finally finishing in 4th in the UK, 73rd overall, and completing a distance of 58.76 kilometres before being overtaken by the car.
