Notfast Running Club
41 NOTFAST members took part in Parkruns this week, with numerous tourists at Hereford, Cleethorpes, Colwick Park, Belton House, Clumber Park, Beeston, Rushcliffe and Reading. PBs this week for Gill Oxley, Cath Hare, Kirsty Watson, Camilla Grant and Nick Rayns.
This week was the second instalment of the Nottinghamshire Summer League, this time held at Holme Pierpont. This was a 5 mile course around the lakes and grounds with representatives from all the clubs in the Nottinghamshire area. A very warm and sunny evening, and 64 NOTFAST members took part in the course. For the female team, Diana Wakefield was first back in 35th place and 35:06, followed by Gill Oxley, in 55th place and 37:23, and Kimberley Etherington-Bates in 87th place and 39:34. For the men, Damian Davies was first back in 101st place, and 31:28, followed by Adrian Dix in 112th, and 31:50, and then Richard Hallam in 114th and 31:54.
Stuart Hawkes was in the south on Sunday for the Hereford Half Marathon. Run along some very scenic country lanes, Stuart came back in 1:57:30, a seasons best for the half marathon.
Sue and Steve Needham were in Florida this weekend, and completed some Disneyland running events. On Saturday, they completed in the Tinkerbell 10K, finishing together in 1:09:14. On Sunday, they also completed the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, again finishing together in a time of 3:35:01. Both events meant 5:30am starts, showing real commitment to the cause!
