Notfast Running Club

39 members completed Parkruns this week, at Rushcliffe and Newark, with PBsfor Simon Lock, Fay Paterson and Helen McLaughlin.

On Tuesday and Thursday, there were the final 2 events of the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix. This is a series of 4 events over 2 weeks around Nottingham. The 3rd instalment was a 5k route around Victoria Embankment. First back for NOTFAST was Jeremy Reichelt in 23:34, followed by David Gill (24:25), Kate Fisher (25:48), Annette Taylor (26:01), Matt Gascoigne (26:22), Andy Pritchett (26:38), Cheryl Kempster (27:36), Lyn Gascoigne (27:43), Faye Hemingway (31:59), Jacqui Walton (32:25), and Colin Green (33:21).

The final event on Thursday was a 5 mile course around Colwick Park. Jeremy Reichelt was the first NOTFAST member in 38:57, followed by David Gill(41:17), Annette Taylor (44:47), Kate Fisher (44:49), Andy Pritchett (46:22), Cheryl Kempster (46:59), Lyn Gascoigne (50:43), Matt Gascoigne (50:43), Faye Hemingway (54:48), Colin Green (55:25), Jacqui Walton (56:15), and Madaleine Combie (1:03:31).

On Friday, 4 NOTFASTers took part in the Skelly 6, a 6 mile trail race in Skellingthorpe, on the outskirts if Lincoln. Claire Wood was first back for the team in 52:02, followed by Rachel Sheldrake (58:07), Amy Borrill (1:02:26), and Claire Simmonds (1:14:20)

Also on Friday, after completing the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix, Matt Gascoigne and Lyn Gascoigne were at the Bramcote bandana run. Both took part in the 10K event, with Matt finishing in 46:13, and Lyn in 59:07.

Also on Sunday, Steve White and Richard Lamb were at the Leeds 10k, one of the biggest 10K events in the country, with over 7000 runners. Steve finished in 50:05, and Richard came in in 51:59.

Kimberley Etherington-Bates was at the Womens Running Race Series – 5k in Notthingham on Sunday. Kimberley came in 4th overall (and very close to 3rd) in a time of 24:14.

Piotra Dura, who has been injured for some time make his comeback on Sunday, taking part in the Scarfell Pike Trail Marathon. Lots of large rocks to scramble over made for a very challenging event. Piotra completed the event in 8:01:15.

Adam Holland has completed the Great Barrow Challenge this week, finishing the 10 marathons in 10 days. On Monday, he finished first in 3:10:50. On Tuesday, he finished first in 2:56:12. On Wednesday, first again in 2:58:07. On Thursday, first to finish in 2:50:31. On Friday, finishing first in 3:04:51 and finally on Saturday, first in 2:51:31. On Sunday, not happy with just 10 marathons in 10 days, Adam Hollandcompeted in the British 10K, in London. Adam also go to chat with Rosa Motabefore the race, Olympic gold medallist and marathon runner from the 1980’s. Adam was amazed at how he ran after the previous 10 days, coming in 6thoverall in a time of 33:25.
