Notfast New Year

Adam Holland finished his running year by winning the Great Barrow Challenge Triple Tipple day 2 marathon in 2:58:18, setting a new course record! Adam now holds the course record for all of the GBC marathon courses (all sub-3 hours), and decided to take it easy on day 3 of the Triple Tipple, helping out rather than running.
There were Parkrun PB’s last Saturday at Newark for Rachael Spencer, Nicola Dawes, Annie Cunningham, and Ady Dix. NOTFAST had runners at 7 different Parkruns, including Dundee (Jeremy Reichelt), and Cape Town! (Sue & Steve Needham).
In spite of the weather, several of our runners got the New Year off to a good start at special New Year’s Day Parkruns at Belton and Clumber. Rachel Sheldrake and Netty Stevens were at Clumber Park and were lucky enough to meet the founder of Parkrun, Paul Sinton-Hewit.
Just out of interest, I checked a few facts and figures from the 2016 results records: 108 NOTFAST members took part in 187 different running events over the year, and clocked up 995 race entries and 9,558 miles! Our members have run 55 marathons between them, and 13 Ultras. Quite impressive, especially asthat doesn’t include any Parkruns, long distance walks, duathlons or triathlons. There were NOTFAST runners taking part in events every single week of the year (kept me busy!).
In addition, NOTFAST is still top of the Newark Parkrun table with 129 runners having completed 3631 runs. We also have 12 runners who have completed over 100 Parkruns, and 14 who have done over 50. Here’s to another successful year in 2017!
