From Parkrun to County Championship
NOTFAST results 08/01/2017
30 NOTFAST members took part in Parkrun this week. 2 runners at Forest Rec (which was so foggy it looked like something from a Steven King film!) and 28 in Newark. Parkrun PB’s this week for Richard Borrill, Annie Cunningham, and Kimberley Etherington-Bates
On Saturday, NOTFAST took 2 teams of runners to the NOTTS AAA Cross Country championships at a very boggy and hilly Wollaton Park. Firstly, in the Ladies race, Diana Wakefield (31:46) came in 34th, followed by Rachel Sheldrake (40:28), Sue Needham (45:45), Madaleine Combie (54:46) and Gill Goode (54:55), with the ladies’ team coming in 16th. Adam Holland(32:08) was the first men’s NOTFAST runner back in 13th place overall,although he said he was treating it as a training run! He was followed by Jeremy Reichelt (45:27), Simon Lock (46:42), Stuart Hawkes (49:12), Adam Jackson (49:18), and Steve Needham (53:30), and the men’s team came in 12th.
On Sunday, NOTFAST held their annual awards, and club run. Attendees ran either 5K or 10K distances, followed by the annual awards ceremony. During the 10K, Breeze Rowlands managed to break her 5K and 10K PBs in the same run, while Adam Holland finished the 5K so fast, that he was able to act as photographer for the other runners! Adam came first in the 5K, while Adrian Dix came first in the 10K.
