Gordon Welbourn week and much more
22 Club members over 3 Parkruns, PB for Stuart Chase. Kim Etherington Bates was 1st Lady overall at Newark.
Last week we had 66 members take part in the Gordon Whelbourn Week hosted by Newark Athletics Club. 27 members took on all 5 races (Mon-Fri). A great Club turnout, despite the weather.
On to Saturday, 7 members were in Barkston for the 2nd annual Van’Elnor trail race. 3 members did the 5k: Richard Borrill 39:06, Karen Borrill 39:07 and Jill Fowkes 39:06.
Taking on the 10k: Peter Lane 58:21, Jim Lovett 58:26, Simon Lock 58:30 and Dianne Kennett 01:14:35.
In Marathon Running, Breeze and Andy Rowlands were in Yeovil for the Yeovil Marathon, Andy completing in 03:52:00 and Breeze in 04:42:00 – getting a PB by over 35 Minutes.
Netty Stevens was in Derby for the Derby half marathon, completing in 02:20:00.
Angela Brown and Annette Taylor were in the Cotswolds taking part in the Heineken Race to the Tower, a double marathon over 2 days. Both crossing the finish line together in 17:14:25.
In more local races, Colling was host to the annual crawl and canter on Sunday, at time of compiling the results there were 17 members who took part, results as below. Some stand outs: Amy Borrill – PB, Simon Lock – 6thOverall, Margaret Purdy – PB and Janet Davies – PB.
