**Notfast on tour**
Day 1
After a very early start, we headed down to Stansted and boarded the plane for Poznan. The flight went without a hitch and we were greeted by Piotr at the airport when we landed... thankfully he had organised taxis for us all, so we managed to get to the hotels without any worries. Once we were all checked in, we headed to the half marathon expo which is conveniently located across the street from our hotel. There was an impressive array of suppliers and sponsors to get through before collecting our race packs. We're all really impressed with the race packs - they included a duffel bag, a t-shirt and a bottle of beer, as well as a ticket to a pasta party on Saturday night, so our carb loading is all taken care of!
Once the race packs were sorted, we jumped on the team (free all weekend for runners!) into the main town square. After a few photo opportunities, we found a bar that could seat all 20-odd of us for something to eat. The food was great (it always tastes better when it's someone else's, doesn't it, Janet?!) and a few well-deserved beers were enjoyed.
We agreed that it was definitely time to head back to the hotels as the 7am departure from Newark was starting to catch up with us, and we decided to make the most of the pleasant spring evening and walk back to the hotels. Piotr was able to talk us through the sights as we passed them - thankfully he's a very obliging tour guide! Having agreed a meeting time for the morning, we all headed our separate ways, most of us choosing to retire to bed even though it wasn't quite 9pm.
Tomorrow morning brings parkrun, and we're really excited to notch up our first international one!
