Team Chrispin triumph
Saturday saw Amelia Chrispin compete in her first race of the new Triathlon Season, the LincolnTri club, RAF Scampton Duathlon. Even more exciting was her 7 year old sister Evangeline was taking part in her first ever multi-event race.
Evangeline was the first off with 24 other eager boys and girls. After the 800m run, she was 9th placed girl as she left for the 1.5km bike loop. When she came in for the 200m run to the finish, she had had a great bike leg and was in 3rd place. She held on, and crossed the line in a fantastic 3rd.
Next up was Amelia, who was in the 13-14 section racing with 56 other athletes. She had a really good 2km run and left for the 7.5km bike as 1st placed girl. She worked hard over the 5 laps, maintaining and extending her lead over the 2nd placed girl, and after the final 800m run crossed the line in a great 1st place.
Shortly afterwards they were both presented with their trophies, especially Evangeline who was really excited!
