Amelia Chrispin wins again

Amelia represented Worksop College in the Bassetlaw District Schools Championships. The races took place at Sherwood Pines and in a slightly different format also included the Newark and Mansfield schools Districts. Amelia's race was testing 2km with a few hills thrown in.

With all three districts running together the field was a large one and the competition was fierce, as the top 12 runners would qualify to represent each of their respective districts in the upcoming Nottinghamshire Schools Counties  XC in February. The gun wen off in the yr 7 girls race and after the usual elbows and barging the field started to string out a little. After around 300m Amelia took the lead as she disappeared into the woods.

The next time we saw the runners was when they exited the main part of the course with around 400m to go. Amelia was leading and sprinted the last part of the race crossing the line over 200m ahead of her nearest competitor. She was really pleased as she was not only the Bassetlaw District Champion, but she had also beaten all the other athletes from the other two districts.
