Gingerbreads in the play off places

On a cold and murky afternoon, The Gingerbreads sent everyone home all hot and excited.

Adam Stevens made two changes from the starting line up last week at Spennymoor. Felipe Barcelos returned following illness and Curtis Burrows was in for the injured Danny Meadows.

The first half was a battle between two sides who are aiming to make the play offs at the end of the season,The Gingerbreads may of felt that they had the edge of the half.

The second half was only 2 minutes when The Gingerbread took the lead. It was Granthams born and bred striker Lee Shaw who got it. In typical fashion he evaded the Stourbridge defence and was able to slot home from 6 yards out.

The Gingerbreads kept up the pressure and it was 2-0 18 minutes later. Felipe Barcelos played a lovely 1-2 with Michael Hollingsworth, Felipe then turned the Stourbridge defence inside out and put a cross into Harry Clifton to volley home sending the home supporters into raptures!

Stourbridge then started to find more of the action and started getting into the match. Referee Mr Silcock showed 3 additional minutes of time. Stourbridge won a corner and the ball found itself on the edge of the box to Jake Heath to fire home through a crowded box.

The Gingerbreads had to hold on and had to clear off the line in the 94th minute, but that was it! A 16th match unbeaten and back into the play off positions.
