Newark Striders
Newark Striders was represented at two 10 mile races over the weekend.
The first stop is the Ferriby 10, a race near Hull with a history stretching back to 1953. Philippa Clarke was first to finish, 1:16:55. It was also the 5th of 40 events that Stacey Atkins has planned for 2020 and she finished in a time of 1:46:30.
Steve Martin was in action in the Freethorpe 10 near the Norfolk Broads, a circular course on quiet country roads, coming home in 1:18:43.
As well as Newark, the club ran Parkrun’s at Catterick, York, Kingsbury Water, Rutland Water, Bakewell and The Wammy. Finally Lewis Hopkinson, Chris Cregg and Geoff Riley ran the Clumber Trust 10K. These are untimed social events these days so no results.
