Monsoon season
Aldershot Monsoon.
The Brisca V8 Stock Cars visited Aldershot Raceway for the first time on Bank Holiday Sunday.
The meeting proved both interesting and challenging, with drivers having to learn a new track where every corner was different and the weather providing monsoon like conditions.
Whilst the MotoGP at Silverstone was cancelled site staff at Aldershot valiantly tried to sweep around 2” of water off the track between races. Rain and spray made visibility difficult, but racing continued, and the diehard spectators were treated to a full race program of bangers, ministox and V8 stock cars.
The MDS Team and other V8 teams made the long journey to the circuit and put on a sterling show.
Dave completed all heats, suffering a damaged track rod in the first heat which the team straightened in time for heat 2 and was once more in the points with top ten finishes in both the final and grand national, making the long trip worthwhile, and putting him in 9th place in the Whites and Yellows Championship table.
