Newark Striders
Lets chase away those Monday morning blues with some great results from the weekend.
Firstly we start in Norfolk with Steve Martin who completed the Norwich 10k in a super time of 46.38.
Then we travel to Yorkshire where Jan Bailey and Philippa Clarke completed the York 10K, Jan finished in an amazing 36:37 and Phil in a new personal best time of 47:57. Also a huge congratulations to Peter Davis who has had a successful few weeks, receiving three county championship medals. At Newstead Abbey dash 5k he came 77th in 22.05 County Championship bronze medal for male vet 60 , Notts. AAA Summer Series - Teversal 143rd in 44.09 County Championship bronze medal for male vet 60 in the 5 race series and Formula One 10k Nottingham 82nd in 46.10 County Championship silver medal for male vet. 60.
A huge congratulations to all those who participated in this year's Notts AAA summer league series. The last round took place on August 2nd at Teversal, a approx 5.8 mile course.
True to form Jan Bailey was the first Strider to finish in 35:56, with Dan Stephen 37:45, Adam Clarke 41: 21, Matt Silk 42: 23, Gary Tasker 42: 37, Mark Winter 43: 26, Peter Davis 44:09, Dave Dews 45:01, Simon Price 45: 17, Jason Priest 56:07.
The ladies once again were amazing and lead home by Philippa Clarke in a 47: 56, Beverley Hancock 49: 09, Nicola Bradley 49:58, Hannah Thompson 53:27 and Elizabeth Slessor in 57: 33.
Overall results for the five races are
Jan Bailey 12th, Dan Stephen 23rd, Mark Winter 54th, Peter Davis 62nd and Jason Priest 93rd.
The ladies Philippa Clarke 24th, Nicola Bradley 32nd and Beverley Hancock 34th.
