Striders on tour

Striders, Newark, Running

What an amazing weekend of running Striders, lets start the results close to home with " The Robin Hood marathon". Up until a few years ago the course was relatively flat but then they altered it and threw a couple of nice big hills ! So a huge well done to all that completed.
The honour of first Strider to finish the 26. 2 miles went to the awesome
Dan Stephen who finished in an amazing time of 3:21:52, followed by Leroy Lindsay completing his first marathon in 3:58:42 PB , while Richard Scott completed his sixth marathon this year in 3:59: 51, Jon Rawson completed his first road marathon in 4:05:15 PB, Mark Turner completing his first marathon as a Strider 4:12: 06PB, the amazing Peter Davis running after recent hand surgery and first marathon as a Strider completed in 4:18:07 and Simon Price his second marathon in six months finished in a brilliant time of 4:24: 56. Well done gents.

While in the half marathon ( which also has the same hills) Dan Endersby lead Striders home in his first half marathon in a great time of 2:16:32 PB , followed by Gemma Latham also a first timer 2:17:59 PB , Joanna Cartlidge 2:19:06 , Rob Wilkinson 2:25: 15, Bernie Divall running her first HM for the Children's brain tumour centre research charity finishing in a time of 2:34:13 PB and Eddie Jones and team running for Parkinsons charity finishing in 2:43: 48 and Tom Stimson 3:09:04

A huge well done to Strider Geoff Riley who completed the Brewood woggle 10K , Geoffs first official race as a Strider and finishing in style with a new personal best time of 57:40

Two lovely ladies completed the Rother Valley 10K global energy run. Both achieved great personal best times Dawn Johnson finished 52:57 and Sara Whittaker in 56:14.

If you ever want to do something completly mad then try Equinox !
Another wonderful weekend of Strider team spirit, friendships, lots of laughs, blisters, inappropriate discussions on runners bodily functions , lots of cake eating and tea drinking.
The idea of Equinox is to do as many laps of the 10K course as you can physically manage in 24 hours. As a pair/ team you may only have one runner on the course at a time , soloists just keep going !
A huge congratulations to all those who participated, you are all awesome.
