Striders Update

another busy weekend for the boys and girls orange, two of them even entered the lions den

We start in Doncaster with Lewis Hopkinson and Kirsty Ballinger both completing the " The Yorkshire Wildlife Park 5K". Lewis finished the course in an great time of 19:17 coming 13th out of a field of 900 participants and winning the V40 male title. 

For Kirsty this was her first offical race after having baby Tasmin only four months ago and she finished in a brilliant time 36:21

While in Manchester, Chris Draper completed his first half marathon as a Strider in a brilliant time of 2:07: 50.

Nineteen Striders went stumbling around Cropwell Bishop and the results were wonderful with five new personal best times achieved.

Once again Jan Bailey was in great form completing the course in a wonderful time of 36:36 coming in 5th overall and 1st place in his age category V40. 

It was a close run race between Simon Roberts, Mark Jackson , Dave Dews and Mark Winter.  Simon finished just ahead in 42:10 a new 10K PB and Mark in 42:14 coming 30th and 31st , Dave finished in 44:28 followed by Mark in 44:48. Jean- Louis Balestra achieved a new 10K PB of 44:53, Peter Davis 45:17 also winning his age group category MV60.  Nick Beveridge 45:31, Steve Martin 47:20, Jon Rawson achieved a new 10K PB of 47: 22 .

Philippa Clarke was the first lady Strider to finish in a fantastic time of 51: 22, followed by Simon Drury 53:13, Jacqui Jackson 55:28, Becky Clift 57: 04, Stacey Atkins 58:14, 

Gemma Latham 59: 27, Nick Harrison completed his first official 10K in a time of 1:00:30 with Donna Beveridge who produced the final PB of the day finishing in 1:00:31 and the lovely Holly Davis 1:05:22. 

 

While in Leicester two Striders completed the Marathon Dan Stephen in 3:33:04 and Matt Silk in 3:55:02 PB. 

 

Congratulations to Jason Priest who completed the EdF energy 10K in West Burton. Jason completed the course in 57:12.

 Wyn Thomas and Lee Robinson completed the Spires and Steeples half marathon, Lee finished in 1:55:48 and Wyn in 2:07: 47.
