All the week’s news from Newark Striders with Graham Welsh
It was a fairly quiet week for Newark Striders in terms of racing, but there is no shortage of good news, starting on Tuesday when Peter Davis finished first in his age category at the Lincoln Wellington 5K series in a superb 22:02.
On to Wednesday and Jan Bailey, Philippa Clarke and Jason Priest were in action at the Beeston AC Trent 5 mile race. Jan came 13th overall in 28:07, then Philippa 39:31 and Jason 42:53.
Fast forward to Sunday and we find Jan and Philippa in excellent form once more, this time over 13.1 miles at the Edinburgh Half Marathon where Jan set himself a fabulous new personal best of 1:19:03 and Philippa only just missed out on making it a PB double, finishing in a great time of 1:45:42. Finally, news from closer to home where Jack Titterton and Nick Harrison were running in the Trust 10 at Clumber Park, with times of 47:02 for Jack and 1:12:46 for Nick.
