Newark Athletic Club
The 2nd round of the Notts summer league took place on the measured 5mile course at the national water sports centre Holme Pierrepont resulting in 400 plus men and 250 plus ladies finishing. Newark AC once again managed to get out 10 men thus finishing an open mens team and a vets team. Pleasingly this time we had two under the age of 40. Alas we failed to have any ladies present.
The open team was led home by Martin Waite 55th followed by Andrew Welshman 69th, Craig Renton 70th on his return after the London marathon likewise Lee Braithwaite 106th, Tim Bagguley 109th and finally Andrew Cawthra 151st who made the start with 2 minutes to go after being caught up in traffic at Newark following an accident on the ring road.
The vet men were led by Gareth Owens 173rd supported by Rob Orgill 266nd, Paul Reed 374th and finally Gareth Bagguley 383rd
We were team managed by Amber Owens .
