Swimmers star again

A great night in the pool for Newark Swimming Club

Yet again Newark Swimming Club have performed well; this time in a stage 2 trophy gala at Bramcote.

Newark dominated in the backstroke events with Amber Redmile, Owen Hathway, Frankie Ward and Ben Buck all coming out on top in their age group, while Harold Mizen and Bence Tejes stormed through in the breastroke to take the top spot. Other wins came from Georgie Proctor in the open 50m free and Joe McCallion inn the 50m fly.

Stars of the show were the 10 year old boys team and the 12 year old girls team, who each won the 4 x 50m freestyle relay and the 4 x 50m medley relays. The teams consisted of Owen Hathway, Ben Bilton, Sam Durham, Toby Love and Frankie Ward, Juliet Gillespie, Jessica Reed and Gracie Palmer

Newark achieved 14 wins overall and 6 personal best times. Not as many PBs as normal, but impressive considering the number of events the swimmers have been competing in over the last month.
