Newark end the season in style
**League Winners**
The mixed 2nd finished Newark's summer season off in style with an outstanding home win. All of Newark’s male players have been consistent this season and the men's 1st team recently just missed out on promotion in their LTA Div 6 league but there was no doubting the winners of Div 5 of the Notts short format league as Newark finished top of the league on 9 points having won 4, drawn 1.
From a total 60 sets played throughout the season the team only conceded 14, only 1 of them from this Sundays match which saw Ashley Hallam/Rich Hall take 4 sets easily with some deep cross court back hands from Ashley with any returns being finished quickly at the net by Rich. Sam Smith/James Lalyk also took their 4 sets, with games being won with lots of aces and mixing up their deep court shots with drop shots. Tony Gammage /Gary Brickles were unlucky to lose against East Bridgford 1st pair 6-3 to take just 3 sets.
