Amelia Chrispin

On Sunday Amelia Chrispin travelled to The Edge at a chilly Leeds University to take part in the Leeds/Bradford Aquathon. The event was the first race in the Yorkshire Region Triathlon Series 2017 and Amelia was in the Tristar 2 section so would be swimming 250m, followed by a 1800m run.

The heats contained 16 athletes in each with two per lane in pool. Amelia had a solid swim leaving the pool in 4th place. After a really slick transition she started the 1800m run in first place with two other girls hot on her heels.
Amelia ran strongly and managed to move away from rest of the competitors in her heat and crossed the line in 1st place. She now had to wait for the other heats to take place to find out her final position overall.

102 boys and girls completed the race and Amelia was pleased to find out she had come 1st out of 54 girls and 2nd out of all the boys and girls.
