Newark Rugby Club travel to Stamford for their NLD Semi-Final buoyed by last weekend’s excellent victory over Loughborough. The hosts play in Division Three of the Midlands league, one level below our locals but are having an excellent season and are currently second in the table and after beating Lincoln in the last round will be tough opponents for Will and the boys.

Turning to football and the race for the East Midlands Championship goes on; Newark Flowserve will be favourites to beat mid table Ashby when they visit Lowfields for the first time while Selston travel to Rainworth and will  also be favourites to take maximum points. Who will trip up first!

Expect to see another two Flowserve debuts with Ingles top scorer Sean Woolley and Grantham Towns Ryley Thompson joining the club a few days ago.

A big opportunity for Newark Town to climb the table, they travel to a Dronfield side two places and one point above the Blues.

Collingham are also on their travels with a trip to Doncaster to play a Bentley side that has had a turbulent few weeks with most of the side leaving for pastures new.

Its a big weekend for our runners with the National Cross Country Championships at Harewood House, Leeds. Newark A.C. President Gareth Bagguley will be attending his 48th consecutive championship.

For the runners not traveling to Leeds there is always the Duckeries 10k.

Wheelchair Basketball see’s the Jaguars 3 travel to Cheshire to play Phoenix.

On to Sunday and its a Notts Cup Quarter Final when Newark Town Ladies take on Arnold Town Gold (Devon Park 2.00pm).
