The world record attempt begins

Adam Holland is after a world record, day one of ten

Oyster Bay Marathon (Saxons, Vikings & Normans 10 marathons in 10 days) day 1

Adam's first report;

Been waiting to get this challenge on the go! It was fantastic to see so many people I know before the start of the marathon. Will have to let you know tomorrow how many are doing the 10in10 as don't know. First choice what to wear, went with my normal SKINS shorts plus went with the long arm sleeves as it was quite windy and my Notfast vest. Of course I have my Garmin Fenix 3HR from Up and Running. I was really grateful that it wasn't raining because with that wind I reckon it would've hurt. So I forget to mention it was sunny. I when for a 1 mile warm up and realise how tough it was going to be on the way back as it was a 4 lap course. (Out and back)

So I had my game plan still in place with a slight alteration based on the course and the conditions. Go faster on the way out to the far end and hope that I wouldn't slowdown too much on the way back. Did half way in about 1:23:00 so very half with that. At this point my right arm is starting to hurt but it wasn't until the last 3 miles on the way back that I found that it was quite painful and was running slower which I didn't mind because I knew I was ahead of target. So basically I just need to make my way back to the finish. Manage to finish a lot quicker than I expected but I can't complain as it's ahead of target. Been told that the wind isn't going to be as bad for the next couple which is great. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! Lol

Time: 2:51:38sec and 1st back
So first sub 3 hours in the bag and 9 to go!
