It was the weekend of the 24hr Conti Thunder Run. An advance party headed over to Catton Park early on Friday to claim a prime spot next to the course and set up camp.  26 Striders participated in the race and completed 123 laps of the challenging 10K course, which has tough hills, twists and turns, rough surfaces and tree roots with which to contend, in the heat of the day and in darkness. A huge 'well done' to Steven Padgett, Tom Spelman, Dan Arkwell, Sarah-Jane Cobb, Stacey Atkins, Andy Scott, Noel Henderson, Nicole Henderson, Di Holmes, Donna Wright, Natalie Sellers, Jean Louis Balestra, Simon Palmer, John Palmer, Rob Wilkinson, Jacqui Jackson, Graham Welsh, Jon Rawson, Jason Cobb, Bev Hancock, Nicki Padgett, Cate Driscoll, Becky Clift and Mark Jackson who took on and conquered the mighty TR24. Not usually the sort of event to single out individuals as all are equally exhausted by Sunday afternoon, but Jason Priest's 9 solo laps and Jan Bailey's 7 super fast circuits as part of an all-star team that won the mixed small teams with 32 laps was the stuff of legend. Everyone's running benefitted from the dedication of our supporters in camp, thanks so much Sally, Donna, Rachel, Philippa, a cuppa and some positive words means so much when the going is tough.

So, what a week for the club, road racing, sprint & middle distance track racing, endurance events, training. Well done everyone!
