Warriors take the honours

Warriors F.C.

For the second night in succession spectators witnessed a close run final between Warriors and Fernwood Foxes.  This time it was the turn of U9 Raiders to represent the club in the NNYFL Cup.  Both teams played accomplished football beyond their years and showed that they thoroughly deserved their places in the final.

Despite going behind in the first half Warriors continued to create chance after chance but it was deep into the second half before they finally found the net against strong opposition and a superb performance from the Foxes keeper.  As the clock ticked down it looked as if normal time was going to end with the teams tied but it was Warriors who found the strength and desire to score a winning goal and take the silverware.

Raiders have now claimed a hat trick of cup wins, being successful in cup competitions at U7, U8 and now U9's.  Martin and Robbie have demonstrated that their coaching and the boys ability and teamwork is a winning combination.

Both teams are a real credit to their clubs and should be congratulated for producing another exiting cup finale in what is the final year of the NNYFL.
