Success for Simon

Newark sidecar driver Simon Horton with passenger Adam Buxton recorded two wins and a second place in round five of the FSRA Pre Injection sidecar championship at Mallory Park in Leicestershire recently.

After qualifying in second place overall (first in class) and in good, dry conditions, Horton/Buxton got a good start from the front row and settled into fourth place in the mixed grid of outfits.  As the race unfolded they moved up to third place one lap later and on lap five they were up to second position and first in their class. They had a good run through the back markers and maintained their position to cross the finish line at the end of the 10 laps in second place overall but took a resounding victory in their class.

On Sunday morning the weather was again kind to them for race two and they settled straight into second place behind Rob Fisher and Rick Long who were racing in a different class. The pair held station throughout the 10 lap affair to bring their outfit home for a second win of the weekend.

The weather took a turn for the worse on Sunday afternoon and the third race was run in wet conditions. Again Fisher/Long were ahead but this time Howles/Sanderson moved up into second place overall and try as they may Horton/Buxton were unable to make a move stick and they completed the race in third place overall but second in their class.

These three top results round off the season on a high for WINTEC Racing but they will not be sitting on their laurels as they will have a busy winter ahead of them building the new bikes and making preparations for the 2020 season.
